After Your Procedure
For your safety, you will not be permitted to leave alone.
Please make sure a family member or responsible adult can
drive you home.
Out of concern for your safety, if after procedure sedation
is involved, you must be discharged to a responsible person.
Again, for your safety, please make proper transportation
arrangements.
If the patient is a child we recommend that you are available
to care for the child and another person drives home.
Please do not drive for 24 hours following surgery, do
not operate any machinery and do not make any major decisions
for at least 24 hours, it takes time for the effects of
anesthesia to wear off and it could affect your reaction
time and judgment.
You should be able to go home within one to two hours
following your procedure. A nurse will call you the next
day to check on your progress.
If possible, someone should stay with you the first
night following your procedure. If any problems occur
after you return home, contact your physician immediately.
